- In accordance with instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, government employees are now allowed to work until they are forty years old.
- In the general category, the age limit is relaxed to 40 years, in the SC/ST category to 45 years, and in the OBC-NCL category to 43 years.
- Ex-servicemen also have a relaxed upper age limit. The general category of ex-servicemen is eligible for a three-year relaxation.
- Still, those in the OBC-NCL category can benefit from 6 years (3 years plus 3 years), and those in the SC/ST category can benefit from 8 years (3 years plus 5 years).
- When an ex-serviceman reduces their actual age by the period of military service, and if the resultant age is not more than three years older than the maximum age prescribed for the post for which they are applying, they will be deemed to satisfy the age requirement after the above relaxations.
