Indian Army JAG Entry Educational Qualification

  • Minimum of 55% on the LLB (three years of professional study following undergraduate study, or five years of study after the 10+2 system) test.
  • In addition, all applicants (both LLM holders and LLM hopefuls) to courses beginning that year must submit their CLAT PG Score from the previous year.
  • Candidates must meet the requirements set forth by the Bar Council of India/State to become certified as advocates. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited college or university in India (as determined by the Bar Council of India).

Candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal, on the other hand, wouldn’t require an eligibility certificate.

  • The steps in the selection procedure are as follows: Application Shortlisting – The Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) retains the ability to select applications for shortlisting without justification. Following the shortlisting of applications, candidates will be notified via email of the Center allocation. After receiving their Selection Center allotment, candidates must log on to the website to select their SSB dates, which are initially available on a first-come, first-served basis. Then it will be distributed by the Selection Centers. In the event of any unforeseen events or incidents, candidates may no longer be able to select the dates for the SSB.
  • At the selection centres in Kapurthala, Allahabad, Bhopal, and MP, only those who have been selected for shortlisting and are qualified will take part in the SSB (PB). The relevant Selection Center will only send call letters for SSB interviews through SMS and to the candidate’s registered email address. The allocation of the Selection Center is made by the Directorate General of Recruiting, IHQ of MoD (Army), and NO requests for changes will be entertained in this regard.
  • The selection of candidates will take place in two stages. Those who succeed in Stage I move on to Stage II. On that day, those who don’t pass stage I will be sent home. After Stage II, a medical exam will be performed if a candidate is recommended.
  • Candidates chosen by the SSB and deemed medically fit will get joining letters for training in the order of merit, subject to meeting all eligibility requirements, depending on the number of openings.
